An exciting gag achieved with
a great Special Effects team.
Timing was once again crucial
and I made a decision to also have my arm alight in shot to the Director;
knowing that once the initial flame had dissipated, there may be some black
smoke and the arm alight would create a separate cinematic entity.
Due to the high energy of the
roof and building exploding, I believe we were around 1,200 fps on this gag.
On the first take my arm was
not alight enough and I called a cut to the shot; an expensive footage call, but
one I felt justified in making when you see the final footage.
Long lens; to assist safety
and punch separation closer; maximum over cranking on photosonics and precise
timing. A great team effort and exciting final result.
